Steelhead-inspired Fine Arts Exhibition

Not everyone likes to catch fish. But some people enjoy piscatorial images, renderings, and related art pieces adorning their homes-displaying fish on their walls so to speak.

In order to reach out beyond anglers and involve a broader mix of the Humboldt community, Humboldt Steelhead Days is offering Steelhead Days Fine Art Exhibition curated by the Ink People Center for the Arts, a fine art exhibition, contest, and sale.

The Humboldt Steelhead Days fine art exhibition is a celebration of local rivers, freshwater angling, and the all-important water itself, as seen through the creative lenses of more than two dozen local artists. From plein air painting to underwater photography, and wire sculpture to ceramic tiles, the show will have art for all tastes.

The art will be judged by a panel of local artists and art collectors, and cash prizes awarded to the artists for first, second, and third place, plus honorable mentions. In addition the art will be offered for sale on site and online.  Purchased art to be picked up or shipped after the conclusion of Humboldt Steelhead Days, 2017.

The HSD art exhibition will be on display at the following venues:

Saturday, February 4  Eureka Arts Alive at “Just My Type” gallery in Carson Building in Old Town Eureka

Saturday, February 11 at Sequoia Conference Center during HSDays ‘Peak of the Run’ Fundraising Dinner & Auction
($30 catered dinner fee. Visit the Events Calendar for more info.)
